I can safely say that this band does NOT have a bad album. But thats what makes them one of my favorite bands, their love for experimentation and trying out new things with their music, whether it is musically or lyrically. A-listers Metallica and Guns N’ Roses both released blockbusting albums (two in the case of the latter), while grunge broke big. 1991 was the year when the 1990s really got started. Recommended Tracks: Swerve City, Romantic Dreams, Leathers, Entombed, Rosemary. Deftones is one of the best bands to come out of the nu-metal era, even though they later distanced themselves from the genre. Grunge, death, doom, mutant funk metal and one of the biggest albums in history - 1991 was when 90s really got started. Deftones is the fourth studio album by American alternative metal band Deftones, released on May 20, 2003, by Maverick Records.The album features a broader spectrum of musical styles than the bands previous albums, ranging from some of their heaviest compositions to moody trip hop and shoegaze influences. Its not often a new album is considered one of the band's best, but to any die hard Deftones fan, you know what I mean when I say that once you play this album, it will be on repeat for weeks. With a new atmosphere and outlook on recording, the band brought an album that sounds little to nothing like their previous releases, but still shines with some truly badass tunes and memorable moments that engrave into the back of your mind for days on end, even if a couple of tracks don't shine as much as the rest. Another shot at a more experimental album, this one makes more sense than the last.
