The transfer also has an even brightness/contrasting that is part of what keeps the images in check. The details in the clothing make it easy to distinguish the types of fabrics used.

Even with some of the brighter images being bold like the reds in the Darnell’s Darlings uniforms, they are never overdone. The coloring is set at the proper saturation levels and they’re also life-like. The movie has an excellent transfer and well authored.

There is never a point where you see the actress out of character. McCarthy is incredibly funny and puts all of her into each character but she is Darnell. She still wears her turtlenecks at an uncomfortably high place and has a tough attitude. The Michelle Darnell character was created years ago at The Groundlings Theater by McCarthy & Falcone and not much has changed since.

The film just looks better overall and shot placement is well done. This is Falcone’s second outing in the director’s chair and I really feel like he has learned a lot since his last picture, TAMMY. Michelle goes to Claire’s home for a place to stay and a way to rebuild her empire.īen Falcone directs THE BOSS with writing credits by Ben Falcone, Melissa McCarthy, and Steve Mallory. The only person that she has known to stand by her is her ex-assistant Claire. This gets her sentenced to 6 months in prison but the government seizes all of her assets. Unfortunately, she took a little too much and did a little insider trading. She teaches people to take what they want by any means and don’t look back. Michelle Darnell is within the top 50 richest people in the world and many follow her.
